چکیده
Multiple types of mediators and signaling pathways can trigger inflammatory responses. For example, interleukins are cytokines which regulate inflammatory responses and are accountable for the communication between leukocytes. Other examples are chemokines, small cytokines promoting chemotaxis, and interferons having antiviral effects. Additionally, these molecules are implicated in both innate and adaptive immunity, having an important physiological role in lymphoid tissue ontogenesis, organogenesis, vasculogenesis and tissue repair. We summarize here the progress in cytokine research with special focus on Alzheimer and Inflammatory Bowel diseases. Keywords— cytokines, inflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, inflammatory bowel disease

The rapidly developing research field of nanomedicine has great potential in fighting against a complex disease like cancer. Thermal therapeutics are superior to conventional techniques, as they are minimally invasive and easy to apply, with great capacity to treat tumors entrenched in vital regions where surgical resection is not possible. Simple heating techniques cannot differentiate between...

Nanomedicine has a huge potential to bring benefits in prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, with increased socio-economic benefits. Since most of the future applications of therapeutic nanoparticles (NPs) are based on intravenous/oral administration, experiments on their interaction with human blood components are of extreme importance. In this context, the knowledge of the...

There are many worldwide investigations regarding new cell therapies to cure end-stage liver diseases. The definition of cell therapy is represented by “the use of living cells to restore, maintain or enhance tissue and organ function”. Liver regeneration represents a complex process involving development of a very well organized and arranged tissue. This paper illustrates the progress made in ...
